Sudeva Tim Hawkes - I work with people from all walks of life, and I am passionate about enabling my clients to learn the skills they need to help themselves.
Bio
I work with people from all walks of life, from successful business managers to struggling students, helping people to navigate stress, anxiety, and life’s many challenges with empathy, humour and friendliness. Online I see clients from all over the world, especially the United Kingdom and Australia. I developed my therapeutic style and skills over many years of practice. I am especially experienced with relationship and family therapy, work-related stress, and shock and developmental trauma. My approach to trauma is based on releasing painful memories held in the body (Somatic Experiencing.
The trust clients have shown me over the years has deepened my insight and my compassion and I am easy to relate with online or face to face. My aim is to offer you the tools you need to heal the issues that trouble you and connect more deeply with yourself, as well as to experience conscious connection with the world around you in nourishing and authentic ways. People often begin their sessions by saying they can never turn their minds off. Well, we can do something for that, we can open the space for peace, simplicity and the freedom to relax when you need to.
My approach is exceptional, because it combines clinical experience and healing of trauma with mindfulness and meditation. I combine these to offer my clients something rare, a real opportunity to find their own sense of direction in the company of a supportive ally, getting rid of that which is tired and no longer wanted in their lives and developing new strengths.
I enjoy working with people from every cultural background. I grew up in London and have travelled extensively in Europe and India. Until recently I lived in Australia and now I have returned to live in Devon ihe UK. In addition to Somatic Experiencing, I am fascinated and inspired by Internal Family Systems therapy and , and have recently commenced a study of the Gene Keys. I look forward to working with you.

I'd like to help you find the tools to manage life's challenges and whatever is trooubling you. Whether it's stress, anxiety or the impact of trauma, a first step is to give your fears and tensions loving attention. This becomes easier when you have the support of a friendly ally beside you.
Experience
I have more than 20 years’ experience working as a self-employed psychotherapist, a counsellor and a mediator in Not for Profit community based organisations, and as an Employee Assistance provider for high end companies including Microsoft. I have worked with and alongside the most vulnerable members of our community as well as with CEOs and high level managers, always with the same compassion and empathy. I have worked with both shock and complex trauma and with neuro-divergent clients; with people who simply wanted to develop better life skills and with people who needed in-depth counselling to manage deeply troubling issues. I commenced my studies with a one year course in London, based on the latest therapeutic methods of the era, developed at Esalen in California. Later I continued my education in more traditional style, gaining a Bachelor of Counselling Degree (with Distinction) at Notre Dame University in Western Australia. I have studied extensively in trauma work, Somatic Experiencing and Internal Family Systems. I find the breadth of my experience of life and of counselling enables me to be uniquely supportive in these unsettled times.
